Old World Wonder reflects the therapy work of Anca Dumitrescu, a nationally certified massage therapist, who is a resident of Roselle Park, New Jersey and native of Romania. Anca has been a citizen of the United States for over twenty-five years, is a 2001 graduate of the Somerset (now part of Cortiva) and of the Cooper Union School of Art in 1989.

Anca has lived as an adult in France, Italy and western Canada, acquiring skills and knowledge in the field of massage long before getting her credentials in massage therapy in New Jersey in 2001 from the Somerset School of Massage in Somerset, NJ.

Anca Dumitrescu is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and a Licensed Massage Therapist in New Jersey. She graduated from the Somerset School of Massage in Somerset, NJ in 2001. Aside from Swedish Massage, Anca was certified in Neuromuscular Therapy and also studied Myofascial Release at the Somerset School of Massage, both of which are used in what is commonly referred to as “deep tissue” massage, which is especially effective in therapeutic care.

Anca was also introduced to Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Manual Lymph Drainage in the fall of 2009 and Reiki in the summer of 2011, all of which use a very light approach. Reiki, a form of “energy work” may use no touch at all. In December of 2011, Anca took an extensive course in Acupressure, which is helping Anca further fine-tune her therapeutic skills. In February 2012, Anca took a Prenatal Massage class which is led to full certification in Pre and Postnatal Massage in February of 2013. In May of 2013 Anca took part in a seminar specializing in stretches which pertain to deep tissue as well as sports massage and are easily adapted also to corporate work.

Anca is currently working on a home visit basis, as well as within corporate settings, and is also available for appointments at the Renew Salon and Spa, at 550 Mountain Avenue in Gillette, NJ.

For HOME VISITS the basic rate is $85 per hour.

The fee for a 90 minute session is $110.

Any of the modalities Anca is aware of may be used during any one session, as appropriate.

Discounted packages for home visits are available

@ $300 for five 1 hour sessions.

They may be used by more than one member of any family.

Also, personalized gift certificates are available.

Beyond a 20 mile radius of Cranford, NJ a fee of $15 for travel expenses will apply. Thus, the fee for each 1 Hour session will be $100, and for each 90 minute session $125.

For new referrals only, a one-time introductory offer of $50 per hour or $75 for 90 minutes will apply to all home visits, regardless of travel distance.

Corporate Massage fees at Old World Wonder are as follows: $60 per hour

with a 10 minute break allowance per hour to provide for best productivity, as well adequate time to check with clients for symptoms and conditions which may affect their massage session. Table-Tune-Ups at 10 minute intervals or longer will be available as well as chair massage sessions.

(The basic rate for corporate massage thus comes to $1.20 per minute.)

Travel expenses for corporate massage apply at the same rate as for home visits outside of Union County, NJ: $15 for each additional hour of travel.
